Museo De Vida - Humanities
For the humanities portion of "Museo De Vida", we read the play Blood Wedding, by Federico Garcia Lorca. We then designed models of a set for one of the scenes of the play, as well as plans for lighting. We also wrote treatments explaining things that we noticed in the text that we wanted to incorporate into our scene such as symbolism, motif, and character development. Next, we researched the Spanish Civil War in a more in-depth way. In pairs of 2, we completed a webquest to learn about the war. We made a timeline of 6 important events from the war and added a collage of photos and quotes from our research onto it. To view the collage, click here.
On exhibition night, we portrayed scientists, waiters, artists, actors, musicians, and doctors from the 1930s. We completed a Character Journal that gave us questions to answer about the character we created. My character was a woman in in the food services in the 1930s, who specializes in the sciences of food preservation.
