Honrando el Pasado con un Proverbio
Honoring the Past with a Proverb
In this project, we integrated art and Spanish to reflect on lessons we learned growing up. In Spanish, we researched proverbs and chose one that related to a lesson we learned as children. Then, we created Day of the Dead inspired art pieces of our faces that incorporated symbols that related to ourselves and our proverbs. My proverb was "Mal que no tiene cura, quererlo curar es locura", or "what can't be cured must be endured". This proverb is important to me because I believe that individuals shouldn't give up or lose hope because of a problem that can't be fixed. This relates to my life because I have multiple structural problems in my muscles and joints, but I have continued to play sports and work through it.
